Celebrating a Great Year – 2018 Highlights

 

 

This past year has been powerful in so many ways for AeroFarms. Our team has been hard at work growing, serving the community, and building out our new global headquarters – the world’s largest indoor vertical farm. We have also been expanding our organization to bring our mission of building and operating responsible farms in major cities all over the world to life.  We are so proud of our team’s accomplishments this year, being named by Fast Company as one of the Most Innovative Companies in the World, and we look forward to an even bolder and brighter 2019. We would like to thank all of you for your ongoing support. We will have even more milestones to celebrate in 2019, and we can’t wait to share what’s next!

AeroFarms was named to the Global Cleantech100 list, presented to the top companies that represent the most innovative and promising ideas in cleantech.
AeroFarms Co-Founder & CEO, David Rosenberg, served on the agriculture transition team for New Jersey Governor, Phil Murphy.
February
Named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in the World for our work in Food.
April
Awarded the New Jersey Future’s Smart Growth Award for 2018 for the positive impact we are having on our Newark, NJ community.
A finalist for Fast Company’s 2018 World Changing Ideas Award in both the General Excellence and Food categories.
May
Honored with the Dell Technology CustomerInnovator Award for our innovative work using cloud computing and IoT. We received this award on stage with Michael Dell at the Dell Tech World Conference.
June
We hosted the Forbes Impact Summit, opening the doors to our global headquarters for a special tour and tasting.
AeroFarms was named a CleanTech Winner for the 2018 Red Herring Top 100 Award.
AeroFarms Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer, Dr. Ed Harwood Ph.D., was awarded the United FreshTEC Achievement Award for his trailblazing work in agriculture.
Co-Founder and CEO, David Rosenberg, was named the EY CEO of the Year in Food and Beverage.
July
Co-Founder & CMO, Marc Oshima, was named to the 2018 Eating Well American Food Heroes list.
August
We moved our corporate team into our new office, located in Downtown Newark, and were greeted on our first day by NJ Lt. Governor Sheila Oliver. We are passionate about transforming spaces, like this former TV studio—now, our 5th office in the Newark, NJ.
October
AeroFarms CFO Guy Blanchard was named a finalist for the NJBiz CFO of the Year Award.
We attended the B20 in Argentina, where we worked to help drive technology innovation and support the G20.
November
AeroFarms was awarded the One Water Award by Jersey Water Works, for the work we are doing to revolutionize the efficiency of water usage in agriculture.
December
We launched two new products for our retail brand, Dream Greens; Baby Ruby Streaks & Baby Pac Choi.
As part of the New York Produce Show, we hosted a bus full of retailers from around the world for a special tour of our farm, a delicious Dream Greens lunch, and a trip to a few of our local grocers.
We hosted an industry hearing at our Global HQ, alongside NJ Senator Bob Menendez, Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka,  Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo & NJ Secretary of Agriculture Doug Fisher. to celebrate the passing of the Farm Bill and the inclusion of the Urban Agriculture Act.
